MCA Chicago X Vocalo Present — Soundtrack Session: Daniel Lamar & The Storytellers
Written by Vocalo Radio on January 20, 2023
Vocalo and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago are back with another Soundtrack Session, a series intended to give Chicago artists a space to shine. This session features Daniel Lamar & The Storytellers live in the MCA’s Edlis Neeson Theater.
West side native Daniel Lamar is an R&B and soul singer whose melodic sound is greatly influenced by his church upbringing and artists like Musiq Soulchild and Whitney Houston. Lamar also sings in various Chicago corporate bands including Funktastic Productions, The 479, and Frankie Parker and The Gentlemen.
For this sound track session Daniel Lamar preformed songs from his 2018 EP III and 2023 album 29 alongside The Storytellers, featuring drummer Curtis McCottry, keyboardist Jay Rytthm and bassist Matthew Skillz
Daniel Lamar will be performing at the MCA on Sunday, January 22 at 1:30 p.m. as a part of their Soundtrack live music series. Access to the performance is included with museum admission. Find more information on the MCA’s website.
