The Reel Critic Reviews ‘Black Panther’ Sequel, ‘Wakanda Forever’

Written by on November 11, 2022

Reggie “The Reel Critic” reviews the follow-up to Marvel’s Black Panther, Wakanda Forever.

Oscar-nominated Ryan Coogler is back in the director’s seat for the highly-anticipated Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Coolger brought back the original cast of Black Panther for its sequel, including Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Leticia Wright and Danai Gurira. Coogler and the cast were challenged with moving production forward after the passing of the original Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman.

Wakanda Forever takes on themes of grief and mourning as  in the wake of King T’Challa’s death, while introducing a new threat to the kingdom of Wakanda: the fictional underwater city of Talokan. ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ also adds new cast members Tencho Huerta, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel and Mabel Cadena bringing fresh energy to the film and expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ryan Coogler also added two brand new tracks from Rihanna to the Wakanda Forever soundtrack, alongside artists like Tems, Pinkpantheress, Tobe Nwigwe and more. Hear Reggie the “Reel Critic” review the action-packed film on this week’s episode of “The Reel Critic.”
