What do you do for Vocalo Radio?
I produce, host and curate the music for Domingos en Vocalo, a weekly Latinx indie music, arts and culture programming en español on Sundays from 12-3pm.
What’s the best part of your job?
The best part of the job is having the freedom to feature emerging and indie music from Latin-America and the diaspora in the U.S., providing a platform for dialogue for the Latinx community in Chicago, and learning from these conversations while also connecting with other realities. I also love having the opportunity to speak with international award-winning artists who have taught me to keep it humble and authentic.
What do you love about Chicago?
Chicago is such a vibrant and multicultural city, depending on where you go one can feel somewhere in México, Puerto Rico, or in some part of Asia. It’s a plus for those of us who live near the lake!
