What do you do for Vocalo Radio?
I lead marketing efforts for Vocalo and manage our media partnerships.
What’s the best part of your job?
Connecting people to arts, culture, music and one another by telling them about the crown jewel of independent radio in Chicago. It’s also fun being able to connecting the public to the wealth of amazing events we have happening around the city through Vocalo signature events and our partnerships.
There’s a collective experience when you listen to the radio and also when you’re listening music, and Vocalo is one of the most Chicago-sounding stations out there. We don’t sound like commercial radio because we’re not commercial. And we don’t sound like any other station out there: we play a lot of independent artists, we play a lot of music created by Chicago artists and genres from here like house and Chicago soul. It’s exciting to be part of something whose aim is to bring out the best of this city and its people through local arts, culture and music.
What do you love about Chicago?
The city is anywhere else in the world – the food, music, architecture, arts & culture are amazing here. And I also appreciate the hardworking attitude and commitment to giving back that a lot of Chicagoans have.
