Hosted by the American Heart Association, the virtual EmPOWERED to Serve (ETS) Health Justice Roundtable will feature an interactive discussion with American Heart Association EmPOWERED to Serve and HBCU Scholars. . From the impact that structural racism has on education and public health to the effects of racial injustices on cardiovascular health and well-being, it will be a lively conversation providing insight and perspectives on a range of societal issues. Angela Watson Charles, executive vice president of programming with iHeart Media, will lead the discussion as moderator.

Moderated by award-winning journalist and television personality Roland Martin the EmPOWERED to Serve Community Transformation Roundtable will convene business and community leaders, philanthropists and volunteers for a meaningful conversation about effectively transforming communities of color through faith, finance and business. Prominent panelists will include Mathew Knowles, record executive, talent manager and businessman best known for developing the careers of his daughters Beyoncé and Solange Knowles; Vashti Murphy McKenzie, the 117th elected and consecrated bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the first woman elected to episcopal office in the more than 200 year history of the denomination; Amy Dubois Barnett, executive vice president and general manager of Black Entertainment Television; Denise Bradley-Tyson, CEO of Inspired Luxe and Executive Committee Chairman, American Heart Association’s Bernard J. Tyson Impact Fund; Warren Thompson, president and chairman of the board for Thompson Hospitality; and Jacqueline Waggoner, president, Solutions Divisions for Enterprise Community Partners.
