Bekoe’s Top 5 “In Rotation” Picks: December 2022
Written by Bekoe on December 7, 2022
Get to know December’s brand new batch of “In Rotation” artists with five of Bekoe’s favorite tracks.
Vocalo mornings host Bekoe shares five of his favorite songs added to our on-air rotation this month. Read what he had to say below, and tune in to 91.1 to hear them spinning all December long.
THREEZERO – “The Middle“
From picking up a violin at the age of 10 to now creating captivating full-length songs, Chicago’s own THREEZERO, AKA Nate Russell, lands in our rotation with a very smooth single titled “The Middle.” This track comes after his latest 10-track debut project SEEING DOUBLE that released back in 2021.
Jason Ivy – “Divided” (feat. Durand Bernarr & Shuba)
Chicago singer-songwriter Jason Ivy has been busy — and earlier this year he connected with Shuba, as well as another great singer/songwriter you may have heard of, Durand Bernard, for a chart-topping single that’s also produced by platinum producer BuddaFlyWolf. This single has also landed on top of the charts in Lithuania, and now my top five.
ALIAH – “I Want You” (feat. Myquale)
ALIAH is no stranger to our broadcast. She’s super talented in multiple ranges, and after she landed in our rotation last month for her single “DMX,” ALIAH returns with yet another refreshing single which also has some meaning to it. Before her move from Chicago to LA, ALIAH made this single, inspired by her meeting someone right before moving and dealing with the uncertainty of a long-distance connection. It’s a very relatable record, and you can stream it below and catch it playing on the radio.
MFnMelo – “Rumors”
Ahead of John Walt Day, which took place Nov. 26 at the Metro, Pivot Gang affiliate MFnMelo released a few new singles. This record is the first release since his album En Route that dropped last year, featuring the late SqueakPIVOT. Upon listening, you’ll Melo blend lyricism and melodies.
HXRY – “OOOO AAH”
After releasing his reflections album back in 2021 Chicago-based producer and artist HXRY, pronounced Harry, returns with a new single titled “OOOO AAH,” a new R&B sound HXRY likes to call “Thicc R&B,” and I agree. It’s a fun vibe, and it lands in my top five.
