FLY PHOENIX

A band known for its eclectic musical repertoire and their soulful delivery, Fly Phoenix are proving they are not your typical band. Founded in 2007 by Columbia College Chicago students, this band blends numerous genres almost flawlessly with every song they compose. Each band member holds extensive experience in various musical formats, and in many cases that experience overlaps. These genres include, but are not limited to, the many variations of Rock, Soul, R&B, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Funk, and Hip Hop. Much like their music, the band is ethnically, religiously, and culturally diverse. To date, Fly Phoenix has managed to build a coalition of fans from many demographics, while retaining a strong core audience of college students. As students studying Music Business Management and Audio Arts at Columbia College, these guys have carried the knowledge they have learned in the classroom, and hands-on experiences, to self-manage, self-produce, and self-promote the band. Fly Phoenix is proving they are more than just a band; they are an example of perseverance, talent, and motivation often attributed to the many musical legends of generations past.

Vintage Gramma

Vintage Gramma is Marie Barker, Amanda Lester, and Dannielle Owens- Reid. Known for their infectious guitar riffs, remarkable three-part harmonies, and sweet yet hardcore lyrics, these three quirky and adorable songsters have proclaimed themselves “pretty awesome”. Marie Barker, the self professed princess, is the vocal siren of the group, adding beautiful harmonies and intense spirit to the music. Dannielle Owens-Reid, sporting a trendy hyphened last name, leads the vocals and hits that guitar like she’s angry at someone for just stealing her cat. Amanda Lester, who is 5’7”, plays lead guitar all day every day and sings just enough to let you know she’s there, and boy do you notice.
