Portland-based experimental indie rock band Parenthetical Girls is known for mixing orchestral pop arrangements with danceable synth grooves. Jesse Menendez spoke with the band leader Zac Pennington about their approach to writing songs and what to expect from the band next, now that the “Privilege” EP series is completed.

Strike Gently is the long awaited second full-length album from critically acclaimed NY-based band The Virgins. It’s a follow up to their self-titled debut - a collection of soaring pop songs that catapulted them to national fame. In their stead comes a new album and new sound - what band leader Don Cumming describes as a more accurate representation of the band and who he is as a musician. Don joined Jesse Menendez to talk discuss the new songs and his more honest approach to writing them.
