The Rundown

It's the holiday break. You have just enough time to sober-up before a second wave of parties hits on New Years Eve.

If you live in Iowa, you're also getting ready to vote, or caucus or whatever they do to nominate a president in that state. We have Eric Gurr, president of U4Prez.com, where you can run for the White House yourself. It's got to be easier.

Lake County, Indiana is in the middle of considering a 1 percent income tax. The entire state is looking at a major overhaul of local government. We're talking to Mark Kiesling, columnist for the Times of Northwest Indiana. Mark has been hearing from his readers and he will tell us if change is in the wind.

My daughter Emily will be in the studio to tell us what the holidays mean for 10 year olds. Here's the hint - it's the same meaning it has for shareholders at Walmart. We'll also look at her best-of-the-year.

On the eve of Illinois' smoking ban, Laura, manager of the Smoke Shop in Crown Point, Indiana, talks about her city's recent decision to ban smoking in most places.

We'll have that a few other items, along with a host of your content.
