The Rundown

What does it for you?

What is going to save the day when you are at the end of your rope?

A smile from your baby? A bowl of rocky road? Your favorite tune? Meditation, yoga or exercise? A cigarette? Share it with me by leaving your responses at 888-635-1112

Have you ever tried yoga? What kind of feeling did it give you? If you've never tried yoga, is there a reason? E-mail me your thoughts: darlene@vocalo.org. I hope to get some responses on yoga to read throughout today's show.

On today's program, we'll be talking to Krishna Kaur, founder of yogaforyouth.org and the international association of black yoga instructors (IABYT). Krishna resides in California but was here recently at Spirit Rising Yoga in Ravenswood teaching a workshop on instructing and constructing yoga programs for incarcerated youth. Yogaforyouth.org is expanding their program to the Chicago area, so look and listen for more to come in the future. On lock down? Give Y.O.G.A. a try!

I practice yoga and so does my son. What about yoga for kids? Have you ever done yoga with a child? What was that like, tell me about your experience at 888-635-1112. Let's compare stories!

I'll be joined in the studio by Producer, Singer and DJ, Ron Carroll who will be my guest selector for the show. Ron will be playing some of his newest tunes <click to see the video for the "Nike Song"< for the 1st time on Chicago radio although Ron is a major star in Europe and has Gold records for sales to prove it--we'll talk about why it's so hard for Chicago artists to get recognized right here at home.

Usama and I have :"Real Talk" about race, Bill O'Reilly and soul food. You don't want to miss this. Did you hear about Bill O's latest rant? What's the skinny on that? Shoot me a private message right here on Vocalo; just click on send message on my page. I'll be looking in my box and sharing your pm's when I get them during the show.

We've also got an update on comic artist Jiba Anderson and more from Jacoby, the incarcerated youth that uses Vocalo.org to help him get through the day. That's right...VOCALO to the rescue!

xoxo
