  • Monday, February 8, 12 to 12:30 p.m. This past month, comedy band The Flavor Savers played a concert in the Lincoln Park Gorilla house and one of the chimpanzees started freaking out when they played, "Push It," and they had to turn it down.

  • Friday, February 12, 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. In late 2008, Nicky Margolis and Boaz Reisman decided to join forces and create Chicago’s premiere Alt-Folk-Rock-Comedy Duo, Margolis & Reisman. Nicky has been performing improv and sketch comedy in Chicago for over 11 years, and is a proud alumnus of The Second City Etc. and the Second City Touring Company.  Boaz also toured with the Second City as musical director and has been composing and writing music for 19 years. Together they create music and stories that evoke both the power of Beatnik Cafes and the terror of Canada's logging industry.

  • Tuesday, February 9, 1:30 to 2 p.m. Over the past year, discussion of the relationship between population and the environment has reached the national stage. Predictably, it's also drawing attacks from naysayers. In the spirit of encouraging further dialogue, the Population Institute is kicking off its second annual Global Population Speak Out (GPSO) in February 2010. Environmental journalists, scientists and academics from around the world will challenge the taboo against talking about population. They've pledged to publicly speak out in February, to educate the public about the links between population and the environment. We’ll have Robert Walker, Vice President of the Population Institute, on the air.
