My name is Gene. I was born and raised in Chicago by two Cantonese parents . . .or so they claim : ) I live in Lakeview, but I see myself pretty much a proletarian peasant as opposed to a yuppie. Go monarchy! Outside of work I do some volunteer work with the elderly blind in an unofficial capacity in the building where I live, and I also tutor elderly immigrants in basic English. I try to be conscientious about making people laugh : ) I am learning how to cook but have managed only to set the cooking school's kitchen ablaze. I work out every day, either running or weight-lifting. In the summertime, I like to bike my firey red and black mountainbike along the lakefront and play beach volleyball with my friends. I try to live a healthy life and eat mostly vegetarian food - I'm in love with granola it seems. Oh, but don't think I'm a total health nut. Believe it or not, I compete in the annual apple pie eating contest in Lincoln Square - I've never won yet, which may be a good thing since I'd probably die of obesity if I won every year!
