Laura Jones has lived in Gary since 1919. Pretty remarkable considering Gary has only been a city since 1906! She lives in the Miller area of town, and worked for the Railway Express Agency for over 40 years, starting in 1935. She started out in the New York Central Station in Gary, now called Union Station, before transfering to the Chicago station on Canal St. "Anything you could move by train, we moved," she says, but it didn't always go so smoothly. Here are some stories of some of the railroad's stranger mishaps.
