Syd Barrett, not his real name, calls himself an urban explorer. He goes to places where there are a lot of old, abandoned buildings, makes his way inside and documents the terrain, seeing parts of America’s cities that most of us don’t want to look at that closely. To him, the urban decay that most people find sad or ugly is also fascinating, and sometimes even beautiful. And of all the places he’s explored no place he has ever been has been more fascinating or more abandoned, than Gary. Music by Black Forrest/Black Sea.
