I live in Chicago, but I am from New Orleans. I am a radio broadcast student @ Colombia College. I love telling stories and getting to know other people's stories. I think the more we learn by sharing each others thoughts, ideas, and experiences, the better the world will be for it. Oh and I am currently an intern @ Vocalo.org

darlene:
Do you have any solutions for homelessness? Not looking for a total cure (that might be unrealistic) just something that may have been overlooked...What would you do personally to help?
Type an answer, then listen for it !on-air.

Do you think homeless people are responsible for their own predicament? Why or why not?
mt:
As with all of us, I imagine there is a measure of personal responsibility, a measure of fate -- and a pinch of chance thrown in there.
sarah.e.lu:
There are factors beyond an individual person's control that can add up and put them in a situation where they are homeless. A young person my choose to leave their home because they are being abused--they have agency in choosing to leave a crappy situation, but they didn't ask for the crappy situation, you know? I think it's complicated.
sarah.e.lu:
It's a bad idea to entirely blame a homeless person for being homelessness--but people do that to justify refusing to help homeless people. Lame.
