Hi Darlene, Been trying to call in but all circuits are busy. Thanks for airing my "Corn For Fuel" piece.

I have a new, animated Christmas song called "The Ho Ho Song." It's a fun for-all-ages little tune that has been getting some airplay this year.

I'm having an unusual problem with the fact a lot of people today seem to think the word "Ho" has a negative connotation. Yes, I know what it means in street terms but there's been a lot of debate lately over whether we should consider taking the "Ho, Ho, Ho" away from Santa Claus because of its "other" meaning.

I cite the word "gay" which for many generations was only used to describe someone as being happy. Times have changed and the word, while still can be used in that sense, is more accepted as indicating someone's sexual preference and more often, even used as a noun.

I'm writing for 2 reasons.

One: do you think the word "Ho" as a time honored expression of Santa's hearty character should be banned? Should we let anyone make us seriously consider taking the Ho Ho's away from Santa? And if we do go that far, what would a politically correct Santa Claus look, act and be like?

Two: If it is really becoming an issue, should I consider renaming my song?

I'm interested in what Vocalo listeners think about the whole "Ho Ho" debate and whether my naming "The Ho Ho Song" will negatively affect it's chances of success?

Here's the tagline: The crowds, the stress and the search for that perfect gift at the right price is enough to put anyone in a bah humbug mood. We try and fight the holidaze crush but learn it's easier just to go along with it. Once it's over, everything seems to turn out just fine for yet another year and we even regret (almost) it's over. The Ho Ho Song is a new, fun Christmas song about the Holidaze cycle with an upbeat and happy ending. http://www.thehohosong.com for holiday trivia, background, free ringtones, mp3 download and more.
