In Tropic Thunder, the theme of Robert Downey Jr's character is addressed. In the movie, Downey's character is an actor who gets a "race change" so he can play a black character. There is another character in the movie who says, "Why did you have to play an African American? There are plenty of other black actors who could play this part."
